Reader notes

Great Introduction to using Autocad

This is a great book. I am an engineer who has since gone into another profession in which clear and concise writing plays an important role. My drafting experience is from pre-CAD days and included 8 years of intermittent drafting to implement my own work. I have a current need to create architectural drawings for a large personal project for use by an architectural firm and have retained and purchased Autocad so that we could "speak the same language". I looked at a number of books to help educate me in this new field and purchased some of them. A number of these books deal with the nuts and bolts of the Autocad language, which I am now comfortable with. None of these books, however, have provided a usable and straightforward framework to help me implement the powers of Autocad to create architectural drawings. James Snyders book does this, and it is by far the best I have used or looked at for this purpose. It is clearly written, the examples are helpful and goal oriented, and as a whole his book communicates the necessary elements of architectural drafting in an enlightening manner.
